To conduct research in cooperation with undergraduates, graduate students and postdocs in the Huibregtse lab. The broad area of research will be the role of ISG15 in innate immune responses to viral and microbial pathogens, using biochemical and cell-based approaches.
Conducting laboratory research involving high-level experimental design and execution of experiments and their interpretation.
Presentation of results at weekly lab meetings and at public forums (e.g., departmental retreats and scientist conferences).
Participating in research planning sessions, supervising and training of graduate and undergraduate students.
Ph.D. in a relevant area of molecular biology or biochemistry, and demonstrated experience as reflected in scientific publications. Extensive experience with molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, quantitative biochemical assays, mass spectrometry, and analysis of protein structure and function.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Experience and expertise in the fields of ubiquitin and/or ubiquitin-like proteins, virology, and immunology.
$60,782 + depending on qualifications
