The LMCB opened in 1993 as one of the first centres dedicated to molecular cell biology in the UK. The Division has a strong international reputation for research excellence, with staff and PhD students working together to understand the fundamental principles of cell biology relevant to human disease. The LMCB has specialist in-house state-of-the-art science technology platforms, which include Light, Super Resolution and Electron Microscopy imaging, as well as a world leading High Content Biology Facility. In addition, the Division is a partner in the UCL-Zeiss Multiscale Imaging Centre shared with other Faculties in UCL. The Faculty of Life Sciences, Ranked No. 1 in London and No. 10 in the world (QS World University Rankings 2021), offers an outstanding and diverse portfolio of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in biological and biomedical sciences, pharmacy, pharmacological and pharmaceutical sciences.

You will lead your own project while working in a small, collaborative and innovative team who are committed to excellence in research.
The Delas Lab, funded by Wellcome, aims to understand the cis-regulatory mechanisms controlling developmental cell fate choice. To deliver this role effectively you will need a combination of excellent understanding of molecular, cell biology and biochemistry with a special focus on developmental and stem cell biology as well the ability to establish effective and collaborative relationships.

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative research team studying cis-regulatory mechanisms in neural tube development, from molecular mechanisms to the in vivo phenotypic consequences of perturbing this regulation.
