Research Fellow (Carbon-Material-Enhanced Concrete) Full-time

Research Fellow Position

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is a leading school for Sustainable Built Environment. The School plays an integral role in spearheading tertiary education, advancing research innovations and providing professional services in a number of key disciplines in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Maritime Studies fields, with the objective of contributing to the technological and economic advancement of Singapore and beyond. We are looking for a Research Fellow (RF) to work on smart solid carbon sequestered concrete materials. The role will focus on research and development of new materials related to the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for new carbon materials enhanced concrete development (e.g. via incorporation of various carbon materials where they are not only securely stored but also enhance concrete property in different ways, such as conductive concrete, structural batteries, supercapacitor, smart device like energy harvester, sensor, etc.);
• Conduct testing of all relevant aspects of advanced concrete material developed;
• Conduct cost-benefit and Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysis of the material developed

Job Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of carbon material enhanced concrete/geopolymer material;
• A PhD degree from a renowned university in Material Science, Civil, Chemical Engineering or related fields;
• Familiar with relevant analytical and experimental technique/skills, with hands-on experience and a solid theoretical background;
• Excellent paper/report writing skills.
