Research Fellow (Computer Science / Cyber Security) Full-time

Research Fellow Position

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow who will contribute to NTU's mission of advancing cybersecurity and trustworthy AI, with a focus on threat intelligence for underground ecosystems, large-scale Internet measurement, and AI-driven security analytics. With experience in analyzing cross-platform attack infrastructures, and developing measurement-driven threat intelligence systems, the candidate brings strong expertise in understanding emerging cybercrime activities at Internet scale. The role will support NTU's strategic initiatives in cybercrime mitigation and intelligent security systems, while fostering collaborations with industry and government stakeholders to translate research into real-world impact.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct research on cybercrime ecosystems and resource abuse in large-scale Internet platforms, focusing on threat intelligence generation and security analytics.
• Design and develop measurement-driven frameworks for detecting malicious infrastructures.
• Explore methods for integrating large language models (LLMs) with empirical data analysis to enhance threat understanding, uncover emerging attack patterns and evaluate real-world security risks.

• Collaborate with academic and industry partners on projects in cybercrime and AI threat intelligence.
• Prepare and co-author high-quality research papers in premier venues (e.g., CCS, NDSS, USENIX Security).

Requirements:

• A PhD degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
• Research or applied experience in cybercrime, threat intelligence, or Internet security measurement.
• Experience in detection or analysis systems for cybercrime activities.
• Familiarity with data-driven security methodologies, including large-scale data collection, empirical measurement, and attack pattern analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, and Java.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) applied to security tasks, such as threat detection or attack analysis.
