Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence for Energy and Transport

The successful candidate will work with Dr Yuerong Zhang at the UCL Energy Institute, collaborating closely with colleagues from the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA), as well as project partners including motorway service operators, charge point operators, and other stakeholders involved in the Innovate UK project.

The successful candidate will develop and evaluate AI-based spatio-temporal forecasting models for electricity demand at motorway EV charging hubs, integrating transport, charging, weather, and energy datasets. They will contribute to data analysis, model development and validation, dissemination through publications and reports, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of project milestones.

This post is available from 1 November 2026 and is funded for 12 months in the first instance; further funding to support the post may become available.
