Your next career opportunity In this role you will lead quantum methods development for complex omics and cell data. You will shape a new research stream at the quantum–omics interface and build your publication record. You will collaborate across QUBIC and Melbourne Integrative Genomics to deliver robust, reproducible tools for biology.

What you will deliver:

• Lead development of quantum and quantum-inspired methods for high-dimensional omics and cell-based data with mathematical rigour.
• Design, benchmark and document reproducible computational workflows, software and analyses using modern programming and version control practices.
• Deliver high-quality publications and presentations that showcase quantum-omics advances to international research and industry audiences.
• Collaborate with QUBIC partners and MIG researchers to translate methods into applied analyses and usable tools.
• Support supervision and mentoring of graduate students and junior researchers in quantum analytics and omics applications.

You may be a great fit if you:

• Hold a PhD in quantum computing or a closely related quantitative discipline.
• Demonstrate a strong track record in quantum methods development through publications, preprints, software or technical reports.
• Use modern programming languages, version control and maintain an active GitHub profile showcasing ongoing code contributions.
• Thrive in multidisciplinary collaborations, communicating clearly with mathematical, computational and biological stakeholders.
• Manage projects and competing tasks effectively, delivering agreed research outcomes on time.
• Bring experience with research software or biological data analysis, or a clear plan to develop these skills.

Your new team – School of Mathematics and Statistics In the School of Mathematics and Statistics, you will join a leading, research-intensive quantitative environment. Embedded in Melbourne Integrative Genomics and the Lê Cao lab, you will tackle frontier molecular biology questions. You will collaborate with more than fifty MIG members and QUBIC partners, accessing rich data and infrastructure.
