We are seeking a Research Fellow to conduct research on bacterial c-di-GMP signalling, biofilm formation, and Type VI Secretion System (T6SS) in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The successful candidate will investigate the molecular mechanisms by which Pseudomonas aeruginosa triggers the T6SS and kill other microorganisms within a biofilm. One key second messenger involved in the biofilm process is c-di-GMP and the project will involve deciphering and controlling the c-di-GMP network to manipulate T6SS assembly and activity. The role involves designing and conducting research experiments using microbiological techniques, molecular biology, bacterial genetics, microscopy, and biochemical approaches. The candidate will analyze and interpret research findings, contribute to scientific publications, and present research outcomes at meetings and conferences. The position also includes supervising research personnel and students where required, supporting research project management, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary and integrated team of microbiologists, biochemists, cell biologists, and clinicians.
