We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join Professor Zeidman's team at the Functional Imaging Laboratory (FIL), Department of Imaging Neuroscience. Based in the Neurovascular Modelling Group, you will develop and validate mathematical models of brain–body interactions, implement them within the Dynamic Causal Modelling (DCM) framework in SPM, and support researchers in applying these tools to empirical neuroimaging data.
You will also contribute to SPM software development, maintenance, user support and teaching. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge human neuroimaging research within a collaborative team.
The post is available from 4 January 2027 and is funded by the Wellcome Discovery Research Platform for Naturalistic Neuroimaging for one year in the first instance.
If you need reasonable adjustments or a more accessible format to apply for this job online, or have any queries regarding the application process, please contact the Institute of Neurology HR Team (ion.hradmin@ucl.ac.uk).
For informal enquiries about the role please contact Professor Peter Zeidman (email: peter.zeidman@ucl.ac.uk).

Please do not upload any additional attachments as these will not be considered by the selection panel.
You will have a PhD (or be close to obtaining one) in neuroimaging or a related discipline, with experience developing Dynamic Causal Models (DCMs). Experience analysing M/EEG and ECG data and working with the SPM software package is desirable. You will demonstrate independent and creative work in the mathematical modelling of human physiology, strong MATLAB programming skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills. You will also have the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
