Research Officer

Monash University is seeking a Research Officer to join the Australasian Pelvic Floor Procedure Registry (APFPR) team within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

As the APFPR Research Officer, you'll be part of a collaborative, purpose-driven team ensuring the registry runs smoothly, efficiently and to the highest standards. This is a chance to contribute to patient care, research excellence and national health outcomes while developing your skills across governance, ethics, communications and project coordination.

In this position, you'll provide broad administrative, technical and communications support to the Australasian Pelvic Floor Procedure Registry. Your responsibilities will span several key areas, including:

• Administrative support – coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and papers, taking minutes and assisting with operational presentations.
• Patient-facing documentation – organising, preparing and distributing materials such as Patient Information Sheets and recruitment flyers.
• Ethics and governance submissions – assisting with HREC and local governance applications, amendments and annual reports under supervision.
• Site liaison and training – supporting participating hospitals and clinicians, providing database training, responding to queries and undertaking data entry when required.
• Front-line administrative services – managing calls, mail, photocopying, document preparation, supply ordering and general office support.
• Communications and website updates – maintaining the APFPR website and assisting with newsletters, communiques and social media content.
• Academic and project support – preparing materials for conferences and supporting broader project activities.
• Data and compliance – maintaining organised filing systems, ensuring adherence to research protocols, and staying informed on privacy and legislative requirements.

You'll report to the Senior Registry Coordinator and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to keep the registry operating at a high standard.

You'll thrive in this role if you bring a blend of initiative, organisation and communication skills, along with a genuine interest in supporting clinical research and health improvement. You will have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification or Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Clear, professional communication skills and confidence liaising with clinicians, hospital staff and internal stakeholders.
• A proactive, team-focused approach and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• An understanding of, or interest in learning about, research governance, ethics processes and privacy legislation.
• Competence with administrative tasks, digital tools and document preparation.
