Department of Immunology Discovery at Genentech is seeking a highly talented, driven and motivated Scientist 3 for the Kim lab to investigate novel pathways, biologics and potential therapeutic targets to treat autoimmune diseases. This Scientist 3 will lead the projects that advance our understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of T cell biology in inflammation and autoimmunity.
The candidate will be expected to work independently and collaboratively on pipeline projects and will be responsible for advancing exciting and novel research stage programs into early clinical development, providing both scientific and technical expertise and generating solid proof of concept data. No prior industry experience required, but an open and curious scientific mind is essential. Excellent communication skills, will facilitate fruitful and open collaborations with other labs in immunology, human genetics, antibody engineering and early clinical development. Time and space will be provided to both drive the pipeline research program and also explore new biologics and pathways for new target discovery. Using state of the art technologies, the candidate will have the capacity to develop in vitro and in vivo skills to test the involvement of novel pathways and molecules in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases and to identify the mechanism of action (MOA) of new targets.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $103,400 – $192,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
