The Translational Medicine OMNI Biomarker Development department at Genentech provides translational science support to inform the development of novel personalized therapeutics across disease areas including Ophthalmology, Metabolism, Neuroscience, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases (OMNI), spanning all stages of research and development. Our department is responsible for defining and executing biomarker strategies in clinical trials and leveraging human translational research to generate novel target and biomarker approaches.
Within Multiple Sclerosis (MS), we focus on integrating clinical and translational research to understand disease heterogeneity, target engagement, and mechanisms of disease progression. We leverage clinical trial data, human biospecimens, and advanced omics technologies to drive biomarker discovery and enable reverse translation, refining preclinical models and accelerating therapeutic development.
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Scientist III to join Genentech's Translational Medicine team in South San Francisco. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and validate therapeutic targets and biomarkers, with a strong emphasis on leveraging human clinical data to inform disease biology and preclinical model systems. The role requires expertise in human-relevant in vitro models and translational approaches to bridge clinical insights with mechanistic understanding.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $100,400 -186,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
