Join Our Multidisciplinary Biology Team in Spain

You will join a multidisciplinary biology team in Spain to support drug discovery and early development research, with a focus on in vitro Plasmodium falciparum studies in NCB3 environments. You will design and run laboratory studies, analyze data, and work with colleagues across disciplines to inform project decisions. Responsibilities

This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

• Design, plan and execute laboratory studies using established protocols and appropriate controls.
• Handle and maintain in vitro cultures of Plasmodium falciparum in an NCB3 environment, following appropriate biosafety and quality standards.
• Record experimental details and results clearly to support data integrity and reproducibility.
• Interpret experimental data, produce concise reports, and present findings to project teams.
• Contribute to method development, protocol optimization, and troubleshooting experiments.

Basic Qualifications

We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

• Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related life science.
• Hands-on experience handling in vitro cultures of Plasmodium falciparum in an NCB3 or equivalent high-containment environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish language skills are desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to keep accurate laboratory records.

• Commitment to laboratory safety, good scientific practice, and data integrity.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary or cross-functional project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Experience performing IC50 determinations and cross-resistance studies in parasite or cell-based systems.
• Experience with target identification workflows, including gDNA extraction, PCRs and sequencing (preferably using Nanopore technology).
• Data analysis skills using tools such as Signals VitroVivo, GraphPad Prism, Excel or similar, including analysis of dose–response curves.
