The RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) is recruiting research employees to carry out a new theme. The research overview of the laboratory is shown below.
The Complex Phenomena Unified Simulation Research Team, one of the research teams at R-CCS, conducts research and development on unified simulation methodologies that effectively leverage the performance of large-scale high-performance computing systems such as the supercomputer Fugaku. Our target problems involve complex couplings among multiple governing equations, including those for fluid and structural dynamics, heat transfer, electromagnetics, and chemical reactions. To achieve this goal, we also study algorithms for efficiently solving coupled systems of governing equations for complex phenomena, and we develop tools to improve single-node and parallel performance with careful consideration of computer architectures. The simulation technologies we develop are aimed at real-world deployment through RIKEN's industry–academia collaboration consortia.
Enhancement of advanced unified solution methods for complex phenomena to promote and expand the sophisticated use of Fugaku, together with performance tuning in preparation for FugakuNEXT, and their extension to specific complex fluid phenomena (e.g., multiphase flows).
The job description may be changed during the contract period or upon contract renewal to the extent described above.
