The Molecular Synthesis and Function Laboratory RIKEN Pioneering Research Institute (Chief Scientist: Takuya Hashimoto) is seeking a research scientist. Our laboratory specializes in organic synthetic chemistry, pursuing innovative molecular synthesis methodologies and the functionalization of newly created molecules. Through this integrated approach, we strive to advance the frontiers of materials science and life sciences.
The successful candidate will conduct research on molecular synthesis based on catalytic chemistry, the creation of functional molecules, or both, targeting molecules ranging from small molecules to polymers and biomolecules. They will also contribute to interdisciplinary research that leverages RIKEN's research environment. In cooperation with the laboratory head, the candidate will participate in laboratory management, including research planning, manuscript preparation, supervision of student trainees, postdoctoral researchers, and technical staff, and coordination with collaborators inside and outside RIKEN. Specific research topics will be determined through discussion, taking into account the candidate's research plans and future perspectives.
