Research Scientist Or Postdoctoral Researcher

We are recruiting a person to engage in research at the intersection of materials science, artificial intelligence, high performance computing, and software development. The goal will be to develop systems able to exploit the code generation capabilities based on AI foundation models for scientific productivity. Example directions include:

• Development of AI foundation based systems for validating, restructuring, and improving simulation software.
• Interfacing AI foundation models with supercomputers to develop automated simulation / experimentation platforms.
• Artificial Intelligence based translation of academic literature into software simulation capability.

Any changes in duties during the contract period or at the time of contract renewal will be within the scope of the above job description.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a related field or expect to receive a doctoral degree before the date of appointment. In general, those who earned a doctorate within the past 5 years will be appointed as Postdoctoral Researcher, and those who earned a doctorate more than 5 years ago will be appointed as Research Scientist. The ideal candidate will possess a robust programming background and experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms. Additionally, experience in utilizing or developing materials science or quantum chemistry codes is highly desirable.
