In this role, you will help ensure the reliability, quality, and compliance of critical bioinformatics pipelines that support Moderna's scientific and operational objectives. Working at the intersection of bioinformatics, software engineering, validation, and operational support, you will monitor system performance, identify deviations from established standards, and drive continuous improvements across the software ecosystem.
You will play a key role in maintaining continuous software operations, supporting validation activities, enhancing automation capabilities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen the robustness of scientific software platforms. This position also offers exposure to advanced digital technologies and opportunities to work alongside teams leveraging automation, data-driven processes, and emerging Generative AI-enabled solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of relevant work experience
Strong programming skills, particularly in Python and Linux
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience using a bioinformatics workflow framework (e.g. NextFlow, Luigi, Snakemake, NextFlow preferred), version control systems (Git preferred), Cloud (AWS preferred) and containers (Docker preferred)
Experience with Computer System Validation processes.
Experience in a GxP environments and knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements

Experience with bioinformatics software and an understanding of neoantigen therapies
Proven experience in software quality assurance and quality control

The salary range for this role is $145,900.00 – $234,200.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
