Senior Electronics Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electronics Engineer (Systems Engineer) to join the Electronics Engineering Group at UCL's Mullard Space Science Laboratory (MSSL).

In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative electronic systems and instrumentation for internationally significant space science missions. Working across the full project lifecycle, you will combine electronics engineering expertise with systems engineering responsibilities, supporting activities from requirements definition and system architecture through to integration, verification, testing and operational support.

You will work closely with scientists, engineers and project stakeholders to help deliver complex spaceflight hardware and support major programmes including Euclid, Habitable World Observatory and Solar-C. The role offers the opportunity to influence system design, support critical testing activities and contribute to technologies that enable groundbreaking scientific discovery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong technical and systems engineering experience who is looking to work at the forefront of space research within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.

You will hold a degree in Electronic Engineering, or possess equivalent relevant experience, together with a strong background in the design, development and testing of electronic systems. You will be comfortable working across the full project lifecycle and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.

You will bring excellent communication and organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes. Experience of systems engineering activities, including requirements management and verification, would be advantageous, as would an interest in space, aerospace or other advanced engineering technologies.
