Your new role As our new experienced Senior Research Scientist, you will play a key role in driving formulation and process development to secure optimal pharmaceutical characteristics and product stability. You will take scientific ownership of projects within one of our drug modalities and help strengthen knowledge sharing across the portfolio, ensuring early identification of formulation challenges.
Your impact and responsibilities: Set the scientific direction for designing, interpreting and reporting formulation studies. Strengthen knowledge sharing by working closely with scientists, lab technicians and specialists to plan and execute studies on drug products. Own end‑to‑end process by defining documentation strategies for internal and external purposes, including clinical trial applications and patent submissions. Collaborate widely with internal stakeholders, including Global Research, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Analytical Development. In this role, you are expected to set a clear scientific direction, spot opportunities and inspire your colleagues.
Your skills and qualifications To succeed in this role, you hold a PhD or Master's degree within Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering or another relevant natural science field. You also bring: At least +3 years of experience within R&D and drug product development across phase I–III. Hands‑on experience with injectable protein/peptide/antibody/minibinder formulation and stability studies. Familiarity with phase‑appropriate quality expectations and documentation. An innovative, proactive and engaging mindset that moves projects forward. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi‑stakeholder setting. Communicate fluently in written and spoken English. On a personal level, you are a team player who also enjoys driving your own area of responsibility independently. You are not afraid to lead the way for your colleagues and stakeholders. You are eager to see things moving forward in a dynamic environment where projects and processes vary and therefore require you to be flexible and willing to adapt. Additionally, you can communicate complex content to people with different backgrounds and skills, motivating them to hear and follow your ideas and suggestions.
Your new area CMC Development's role in Novo Nordisk's value chain is to turn molecules into approved products in close cooperation with our colleagues in R&D and Global Manufacturing & Supply. In CMC Injectable Drug Product Development, we develop formulations and production processes for injectable biopharmaceutical products. We are approximately 100 employees organised into six teams, all located in Måløv. We manage projects from early development (Phase 1–2) through late‑stage and process validation (Phase 3–PV), covering GLP‑1 products, insulins, monoclonal antibodies and minibinders. Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from DKK 651.000 to 956.900 corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate's skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
