This position performs independently complex research studies, experiments and assays. More specifically, The Stallings Laboratory is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to assist with innovative research in the areas of microbiology and immunology that are driven towards the development of novel treatments for mycobacterial infections. Will be responsible for the studies involved in evaluating new compounds for antibacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTMs) in bacterial cultures, in cell culture, and in mouse models of infection. In addition, will be responsible for the studies involved in evaluating new candidate host-directed therapies for immunomodulatory activity that result in better control of M. tuberculosis infection in cell culture and in mouse models. The position requires working in a Biosafety Level 3 laboratory and working with mice, including performing infections and harvesting tissue.

Salary Range: $18.77 – $31.94 / Hourly. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
