Senior Researcher / Laboratory Leader Positions (R3) in Robotics Full-time NEW
Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava announces an open call for Research Positions in Robotics for the Department of Robotics.
We are expanding our research capacity!
The Department of Robotics is looking for new colleagues: Senior Researcher / Laboratory Leader (R3) – Experienced researchers whi will drive scientific excellence, project outputs, and collaboration.
Research Topics
Candidates with expertise in at least one of the following areas are welcome:
- Robotic and mechatronic system design
- Human–robot interaction and ergonomics
- Automation and robotised workplaces (industry use-cases)
- Field robotics and harsh-environment robotics
- Predictive maintenance, sensor systems, multimodal monitoring
- AI/ML for robotics, perception, prediction
- Computer vision and data acquisition
- System modelling and control
SENIOR RESEARCHER / LABORATORY LEADER – Responsibilities
- Lead one of the robotics laboratories (assignment based on expertise)
- Set research direction and ensure KPI fulfilment
- Supervise junior researchers and students
- Lead experimental development and system design
- Coordinate deliverables of ongoing projects
- Represent the lab in international, academic, and industrial collaborations
- Actively contribute to publications, patents, and project proposals
- Ensure high-level scientific quality and lab operations
Suitable for: experienced researchers with proven scientific results, project experience, and leadership capability. (Ph.D. required.)
What We Expect
- Completed Habilitation (or equivalent senior academic qualification / tenure-track equivalent)
- PhD in a relevant field
- Strong publication or project track record
- Experience with leading tasks, teams, or laboratory operations
- Ability to define experiments, methodologies, and research directions
- Excellent communication and initiative
