GMP Compliance & Quality Improvement Lead

This position is based in Visp, Switzerland. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

As our GMP Compliance & Quality Improvement Lead, you will help strengthen quality and compliance across our Quality Control (QC) organization. You will identify compliance gaps, guide investigations, and lead improvements that support reliable laboratory processes. You will also share your expertise and help teams prepare for regulatory inspections.

What you will do:

• Assess QC processes against Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, identify compliance risks, and implement lasting improvements.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance on laboratory processes, data integrity, and documentation.
• Support inspection readiness and regulatory inspections, advising QC teams on compliance questions.
• Lead and write deviation investigations, identify root causes, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Review and approve compliance documentation and quality records to ensure they meet regulatory expectations.
• Lead improvement projects with QC, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Technical Operations, using quality metrics and trends to address recurring issues.
• Coach colleagues on GMP, quality risk management, and inspection readiness, encouraging shared responsibility for quality.

What we are looking for:

• A master's or doctoral degree in life sciences, chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology, or a related field; or a bachelor's degree with extensive relevant experience.
• At least two to three years of experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
• Practical knowledge of Swissmedic, FDA, and EU GMP requirements, EMA expectations, ICH guidelines, and the US and European Pharmacopoeias.
• Experience working with regulatory authorities and supporting inspections.
• Extensive experience writing and leading deviation investigations, identifying root causes, and developing CAPAs.
• Experience identifying compliance gaps, applying quality risk management, and leading improvement projects across teams.
• Clear technical writing, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to build agreement, constructively question processes, and independently complete initiatives.
• Clear communication skills in English with a collaborative working style. German language is an advantage.
