The Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) operates one of the most powerful supercomputer infrastructures in Europe and hosts the first EU Exascale supercomputer JUPITER. Computing resources are provided to scientists in Germany and in Europe. To support users of the systems, JSC uses its expertise in high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and data science in general. JSC's simulation and data laboratory (SDL) “Fluids & Solids Engineering” develops scalable simulation codes for engineering applications, AI models for compute acceleration and the prediction of physical properties, and tools for AI and HPC workflow automatization. The SDL participates in multiple EU-funded projects. The Horizon Europe project RI-SCALE delivers Data Exploitation Platforms (DEPs), which provide scalable environments to co-host scientific data with preconfigured AI frameworks and models on powerful compute resources to unlock full data and AI potential for scientific users, RI operators, and industry. Additionally, the TwinRISE Horizon Europe project delivers a European reference framework for Trusted AI-Generated Digital Twins across research, healthcare, and energy infrastructures. Through these projects, the SDL advances Exascale-demanding and AI-infused workflows for a variety of use cases.
In this position, you will be an active member of the SDL “Fluids & Solids Engineering” and will collaborate strongly with the partners in RI-SCALE, TwinRISE, and with other members of the SDL. You will have the following tasks:
