The Department of Chemistry at Faculty of Science, and Cluster for Molecular Imaging at Department of Biomedical Sciences, both at the University of Copenhagen are looking for a Special Consultant in computational chemistry, at Center for Oligo Escape and Disease Control (COE) and Cluster for Molecular Imaging (CMI) for a two-year position with effect from June 1, 2026 or shortly thereafter.
The Department of Chemistry is an internationally leading research and teaching environment for chemistry. The Department of Chemistry conducts top research within a wide range of chemical disciplines. We work within themes such as the green transition, medicine, material development and quantum chemistry. In addition, the department trains excellent graduates in chemistry who are employed in Danish and foreign companies. The department also contributes high-quality chemistry teaching to a number of bio and natural science programs at the University of Copenhagen. The Department of Chemistry has approx. 200 employees.
Center for Oligo Escape and Disease Control is financed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and is part of Department of Chemistry and headed by Center leader prof. Nikos Hatzakis. The COE has approximately 25 persons employed in or associated with the center; ranging from BSc-students to professors with several nationalities represented.
COE is located at Thorvaldsensvej 40, Frederiksberg Campus and this is the workplace for the position.
You will be a central part of in the research groups of professor Knud J. Jensen and professor Andreas Kjær. Your main task will be molecular modelling and computational chemistry and include the following:

Terms of salary and employment are made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
Employment will be as Special Consultant. The salary is based on seniority. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The working time are 37 hours per week on average. The working hours are flexible.
The University of Copenhagen (UCPH) is in the process of implementing a new joint administrative organization and new workflows, which will bring changes in the coming years.
