Location – This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus and Enterprise Square, Edmonton.
The Technical Manager of Core Technology Services is a pivotal leadership role reporting to the Senior Manager of Enterprise Systems within Enterprise Applications, responsible for the end-to-end technical lifecycle of the University's Oracle PeopleSoft and cloud-enabled platforms. Operating as a technology leader, the incumbent translates needs into actionable roadmaps, complex execution schedules, and expert technical designs. Balancing short and long-term planning with precise execution, this role ensures all product implementations and large-scale upgrades are delivered with technical alignment and minimal risk to the university community.
In addition to planning and leadership, the position acts as the primary orchestrator of a complex global ecosystem under a hybrid outsourcing model. The incumbent synchronizes internal developers, IST peers, and external managed service providers across on-site, on-shore, and off-shore teams into a unified technical delivery unit. As a guardian of technical governance and quality, the Technical Manager enforces development protocols & standards, change control management practices, and the maintenance of technical documentation. By overseeing the full development lifecycle through to production support, this role maintains the integrity, scalability, and security as technical assets of the core enterprise resource planning and student information system.

This position has a comprehensive benefits package and an annual salary range of $78,382 to $130,629.
