The Department of Physiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for a tenure-track position. We welcome outstanding candidates whose research employs modern techniques and approaches to address fundamental questions in integrative physiology, including cell, tissue, and organ function. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. degree at the time of application. Our department is home to world-renowned laboratories for pioneering research in membrane physiology, cell biology, neuroscience, and metabolism. In addition, the UCSF Mission Bay campus offers a vibrant atmosphere for collaboration among basic science and clinical departments, as well as state-of-the-art research facilities. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a cutting-edge, independent research program and actively participate in graduate and postdoctoral training. The candidate would be eligible to apply to one or more of our top-ranked interdisciplinary graduate programs and other relevant research groups. Like all faculty at UCSF, the candidate will be expected to contribute to graduate teaching, serve as a leader in inclusive mentoring practices, and participate in activities that promote equity and inclusion at our institution and in the broader scientific community. Service and teaching expectations are comparable to those of any other UCSF tenure-track faculty position. Faculty appointment will be made at a professorial rank commensurate with current academic standing. UCSF offers competitive salaries, research funds, and recruitment allowances, and has numerous opportunities for faculty development and mentorship training.

See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $126,800-$197,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
