The Chu Lab at UC San Diego is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to study host-microbe interaction. Research in our lab focuses on the complex interactions between the trillions of diverse microbes and the host in the mammalian gastrointestinal tract. We seek to understand the fundamental role of commensal microbiota in the education, induction, and maintenance of the host immune system during health and disease. Our research is centered at the interface of microbiome and immunology, using gnotobiotic mouse models and a variety of genomic and immunological approaches.
We are a part of UC San Diego’s Department of Pathology, Center for Microbiome Innovation, Program in Immunology, and the San Diego Digestive Research Center. There are many opportunities for collaborations within and beyond the UC San Diego campus.
The Chu Lab is highly committed to the career development of its trainees. We encourage applications from women, minorities, and individuals with a commitment to mentoring under-represented demographics in the sciences.
To apply, please send your CV, a brief cover letter describing your background, qualifications, research interests, and long-term career goals, along with a recent publication or preprint to Hiu.
