The main purpose of this position in the Insall group is to study and learn equations that define chemotactic steering from a large dataset. The applicant will join an extremely multidisciplinary team, with microscopists, engineers and cell biologists, and will be expected to pitch in to other work while leading the math and machine learning.
The is 3 month fixed-term role, due to research funding restriction.
Research Fellows – 'Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Grade 6B (salary £39,148 – £41,833 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD Thesis.'

We are a successful group in the field of quantitative and mathematical cell biology. The applicant will play a key role in driving the mathematical analysis of large datasets we have accumulated, ending with an equation that will help us understand the mechanisms of steering.
Demonstrable knowledge of research techniques and methodologies, coupled with a publication record in good quality publications. Experienced in high-level mathematical modelling with strong knowledge of the eukaryotic cell migration field.
