Project
A predoctoral research contract is offered to carry out a PhD thesis focused on the development and application of computational methods for the analysis and integration of transcriptomic data obtained using single-cell RNAseq and spatial transcriptomics technologies, which enable the study of gene expression at cellular resolution.
The aim of the project is to advance the understanding of disease-specific molecular mechanisms in neuromuscular disorders. To this end, transcriptomic datasets will be generated to identify spatiotemporal patterns of gene expression associated with these diseases through the development and application of machine learning methods for data analysis and integration.
The thesis will be carried out in the Department of Engineering at Universidad Loyola (Sevilla, Spain) under the supervision of Dr. José A. Martínez-López, within the university’s own doctoral program in data science and in collaboration with the laboratory of Dr. Carmen Paradas at Hospital Universitario Virgen del Rocío/Instituto de Biomedicina de Sevilla (Sevilla, Spain).
