Postdoctoral Fellows in Biochemistry and Structural Biology (UC Berkeley) Full-time
The Shiyu Xia Lab in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, College of Chemistry at University of California, Berkeley is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to lead projects in protein biochemistry and structural biology. The lab provides a highly collaborative environment and is well supported and equipped. Projects are both mechanistically deep and translationally forward-looking.
Key Responsibilities
Clone, express, and purify proteins and protein assemblies
Perform biochemical and biophysical characterization
Lead structural studies (cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography)
Mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers
Drive manuscripts and grant applications
Required Qualifications
PhD in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
Demonstrated productivity in peer-reviewed publications
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong track record in cryo-EM and/or X-ray crystallography
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with higher-order protein assemblies
PhD training or substantial research experience in the United States
