The University of Malta is seeking applications for a full-time Resident Academic post in Bioinformatics within the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Biobanking.
The selected candidate will initially be appointed on a four-year definite contract, which includes a one-year probationary period. After completing probation, the academic enters a two-year Tenure Track process. Upon successfully passing a final tenure review at the end of this period, the position transitions into an indefinite (permanent) contract.
Key Requirements:
Must hold a Ph.D. or D.Phil. in Bioinformatics (or a closely related subject) from a reputable university. Professional doctorates are not eligible.
Previous postdoctoral experience, a record of research, lecturing experience, postgraduate supervision, and a proven track record of securing funding are highly valued assets.
The role focuses on driving academic research, lecturing, and mentoring students within the university’s expanding molecular medicine and biobanking initiatives.
