Research Assistant in Systems Immunology & Cell Design Full-time NEW
The Research Specialist A/B will support the Integrative Immunology & Cell Design Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Dr. Mo Haj-Dezfulian. The individual will carry out high-throughput immunological and molecular biology workflows, including cell culture, flow cytometry, next-generation library preparation, and single-cell genomics, to advance projects in T-cell antigen discovery, immune engineering, and synthetic biology, spanning autoimmunity, cancer, and infectious diseases. The role offers training in advanced experimental techniques, participation in collaborative projects, and opportunities to contribute to high-impact publications, while also supporting day-to-day lab logistics (ordering supplies, preparing reagents, inventory, shipments, and scheduling). This position is ideal for candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering, or a related field who are excited to develop their skills in molecular biology, cell culture, and immunology.
In addition to duties above, the Research Specialist B duties will include independent experimental design and optimization; day-to-day leadership of one or more laboratory pipelines with quality control; training and oversight of junior personnel; coordination of equipment setup/maintenance and vendor interactions for a new lab; and advanced data analysis with contributions to methods and figures for manuscripts and grant reports.
