The Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology in the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio invites applications for an Assistant Professor, Tenure Track. Individuals holding a Ph.D., or MD with an outstanding record of innovative research and academic scholarship broadly related to any area of physiology are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates whose interests complement departmental strengths, including Aging & Integrative Physiology of Aging, Cardiovascular Physiology, Gastrointestinal Physiology, Metabolic Physiology; Molecular & Cellular Physiology, and Renal Physiology.

UT Health San Antonio offers extensive research resources, including the Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases, Barshop Institute for Longevity & Aging Studies, the Mays Cancer Institute, Center for Biomedical Neuroscience, Center for Molecular Metabolism, Center for Precision Medicine, and the Center for Innovative Drug Discovery. Additional collaborative opportunities exist with regional partners such as the San Antonio Army Military Medical Center, Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital, Texas Diabetes Institute, and the Southwest Research Institute. We also aim to expand interactions with UT Austin, UT Southwestern, and Texas A&M University.
San Antonio, a metropolitan area, of 2.7 million residents, is widely known for its high standard of living, numerous cultural events, outstanding schools, and a moderate cost of living. The city is rapidly growing and known for its rich cultural heritage and welcoming community. Nearby attractions include Austin, the Texas Gulf Coast, and the scenic Texas Hill Country.
