Our question: how do our cells and tissues sense injury?
The Siqi Liu Lab (www.siqiliulab.org) at UT Southwestern Medical Center is recruiting postdoctoral candidates. We study mechanisms of innate immune signaling governing mammalian injury sensing and repair using biochemistry, cell biology, and mouse genetics. Our work builds on a strong track record in innate immune signaling (with Zhijian Chen: Liu et al. Science 10.1126/science.aaa2630) and injury sensing (with Elaine Fuchs: Liu et al. Cell 10.1016/j.cell.2023.03.031).
We have recently uncovered previously unrecognized innate immune-like signaling pathways that are important for injury sensing and repair. Ongoing projects use in vitro biochemistry, cell-based and ex-vivo assays to dissect signaling mechanism, and mouse genetics to define physiological function of these signaling pathways.
Postdoc candidates should have strong background and expertise in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry or genetics. Candidate looking for rigorous mechanistic training should email ([Please click the Apply button for the link or address])
