Project Manager for Data Science — Arnaout Lab @UCSF Full-time
The Arnaout Lab at UCSF is hunting for a creative, hardworking Project Manager who can fuse project leadership with hands-on data science. We’re driving translational research that turns advanced image-analysis algorithms into real-world diagnostic tools.
What you’ll do
- Partner with the PI, lab scientists, and clinical collaborators to design, schedule, and deliver data-science projects.
- Build, document, and maintain reproducible computational pipelines and clinical SOPs.
- Own lab communications: website updates, calendar coordination, IRB liaison, and Twitter presence.
- Run a side-project (ML/DL, data-extraction, labeling, analysis) that advances our core mission.
What we need
- BS or MS (or equivalent) in CS, statistics, applied math, simulation, or related field.
- Python fluency; solid experience with at least some of TensorFlow/PyTorch, Pandas/Scikit-Learn, SQL, use of foundation models to help automate the above tasks, and tools like Slicer/Blender/OpenGL.
- Comfortable with HPC/AWS, and data-visualization libraries (d3.js, seaborn, Matlab, etc.).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and excited about steering data-science projects toward clinical impact.
