The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco is seeking additional faculty for its growing and dynamic section of non-malignant (classical) hematology. We are recruiting new faculty members whose clinical, teaching, and clinical/translational research activities focus on non-malignant (classical) hematology. It is expected that the candidate will develop a clinical research program in an area of their interest. Fellowship training in non-malignant (classical) hematology is required. Areas of academic interest that fit particularly well with current goals include, but are not limited to, thrombosis and malignancy, bleeding and thrombosis in women, congenital bleeding disorders, platelet disorders, immune-mediated cytopenias, microangiopathies, and systems hematology. Interdisciplinary research that leverages the breadth and strength of UCSF is encouraged. Applicants who have been successful in obtaining peer-reviewed funding are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates must be ABIM eligible or certified in Hematology. We offer excellent support for junior faculty to develop their career.
The faculty member will be expected to participate in the teaching and training of Hematology and Oncology fellows, residents, and medical students as well as contribute to the division's annual retreat. The Division of Hematology and Oncology has a large fellowship program with a strong record of training fellows who have gone on to full-time academic positions as well as leadership positions in biotechnology companies. Clinical activities will include attending on the hematology consultation service and in our outpatient non-malignant (classical) hematology clinic. Clinical opportunities are also available in our federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center.
Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience. We encourage interested candidates to apply via the UCSF Academic Personnel URL.
Please submit a curriculum vitae, cover letter, statement of research, statement of teaching, and contact information for three references. Applicants' materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $127,000-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
