The Johns Hopkins Department of Neurology, Division of Pediatric Neurology is seeking a full-time Associate Professor to join our growing team of Pediatric Epileptologists. Primary practice location will be at Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Campus.
Johns Hopkins Department of Neurology is credited as the “birthplace of Pediatric Neurology”. The fluid integration and collaboration of neurological care, training and investigation across the lifespan is a point of pride and serves as an example for the nation.
The Department of Neurology includes over 60 academic faculty in pediatric neurology. Johns Hopkins Child Neurology has ranked as a leading program in the USNWR for over 30 years. Our faculty include internationally recognized experts in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, neurogenetics, neuroimmunology, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, cerebrovascular disease, neurooncology, critical care disorders, headache, neonatal neurology, and neurodevelopmental medicine. Outpatient services at Johns Hopkins are provided at Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center. Child neurology has 5 inpatient services within the Johns Hopkins Children's Center, including a primary service, a general consult service, a neonatal ICU and pediatric ICU consult service, a pediatric epilepsy monitoring unit, and continuous neurophysiological monitoring service. In addition to mutually agreed upon goals to be developed in partnership with the department director and the division director, the candidate will assume the following responsibilities, subject to change based on division needs:

The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Department of Neurology faculty compensation program or pay from participation in the Department of Neurology incentive compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein.

A record of peer-reviewed publications, extramural funding potential, leadership in multidisciplinary clinical programs, and experience mentoring trainees would be advantageous.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.
