Description of the Work Environment

The Research Group for the Genetics of Soft Tissue Tumors at the Division of Clinical Genetics, led by Professor Fredrik Mertens, is seeking an Associate Researcher to complete an ongoing research project. The project involves analysis of RNA-seq, WGS, and single-cell WGS data using various bioinformatic methods.

Duties and Responsibilities

As an Associate Researcher within the project, you will analyze already collected WGS and RNA-seq data in order to provide a comprehensive view of genomic changes in the development of liposarcoma.

Qualifications

Requirements for Employment are:

• A PhD in a relevant subject area (tumor biology)
• Documented previous experience in liposarcoma genetics
• Documented (published) experience in analysis of RNA-seq data with regard to gene expression and gene fusions, WGS data with regard to SNVs, structural variants, and copy number changes, as well as SNP-array data with regard to copy number changes

Merits for the employment are:

• Experience in analysis of cytogenetic data (chromosome banding)

Terms and Conditions of Employment

The position is a special fixed-term employment (SÄVA), full-time (100%) for six months, starting on 1 June 2026, or as agreed.
