The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) is accepting applications for one (1) FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship (PD) associated with the FAPESP Thematic Project “2D Materials: Synthesis, Characterization, Theory and Devices” (FAPESP Grant No. 2023/13081-0).
The research activities will be carried out at CNPEM laboratories under the supervision of researcher Diego Martinez (LNNano), who is also affiliated with the Center for Molecular Engineering for Advanced Materials (CEMol).
Field of Knowledge: Materials Chemistry
The selected postdoctoral fellow will work on the synthesis, functionalization, and integrated characterization of two-dimensional (2D) materials, including graphene oxide, MXenes, MoS₂, BN, bismuthene, among others. The research will employ liquid-phase exfoliation routes and chemical modifications for studies and applications in environmental science, composites, sensors, nanobiotechnology, and toxicology.
The fellow will also be responsible for integrating experimental results with theoretical and computational studies, contributing to the preparation of scientific articles, and supporting the supervision of undergraduate and graduate students. The fellow will interact with researchers involved in the FAPESP Thematic Project within a multidisciplinary research environment focused on 2D materials.
Interested candidates should submit their applications by e-mail to cemol@cnpem.br by July 20, 2026, including:
The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of BRL 12,570.00.
In addition, the fellow will receive a Research Contingency Fund (Reserva Técnica) equivalent to 10% of the annual fellowship amount, intended to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activities.
The fellowship will be awarded for 30 months, with the possibility of requesting an extension from FAPESP.
