Centre Manager for the Oxford Centre for Women's Mental Health

The role is based across the Women's Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital and the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford. The Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health (NDWRH) has an exciting opportunity for a Centre Manager for the Oxford Centre for Women's Mental Health (OCWMH) to play a key role in the establishment, development and long-term success of a new interdisciplinary Centre.

The Oxford Centre for Women's Mental Health brings together world-leading researchers, clinicians, policy makers and people with lived experience to improve the understanding, prevention and treatment of mental health conditions affecting women across the life course. The Centre will provide a focal point for research, education, collaboration and public engagement, working with partners across the University, NHS, charities, industry and internationally.

Working closely with the Centre Director and senior academic leadership, the post holder will provide high-level operational, financial and strategic support across all aspects of the Centre's activities. Responsibilities will include programme and project management, governance, financial planning and monitoring, research and funding support, communications and engagement, stakeholder management and supporting the delivery of the Centre's strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will develop strong working relationships with colleagues across NDWRH, the Department of Psychiatry and the wider University, as well as with NHS partners, policy makers, charities, industry, funders and international collaborators. They will also provide operational leadership to professional services staff supporting the Centre, including line management responsibilities, and contribute to developing effective systems and processes to support the Centre's continued growth.

Applicants should be degree qualified, or have equivalent professional experience, with significant experience of managing complex interdisciplinary programmes, research centres or strategic initiatives within higher education, research, healthcare or a similarly complex organisation. Excellent organisational, communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills are essential, alongside experience of financial planning, governance and preparing high-quality reports for senior audiences.

Experience of research grant administration, digital communications or University financial systems would be advantageous, as would knowledge of the UK and international research funding landscape and an interest in, or understanding of, research into women's mental health.

The post is offered on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week), with part-time working considered at a minimum of 80% (30 hours per week), and is fixed term until 31 July 2031 in the first instance. The role is based across the Women's Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital and the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford.
