We are seeking a Clinical Research Fellow to work on a project focused on investigating the genetic causes of inherited neuromuscular diseases within a large and diverse research cohort, with the possibility to develop work towards a PhD and future clinical academic career. The role involves a combination of clinical and research activity (approximately 4:1), including patient recruitment, phenotyping, and consent within specialist neuromuscular clinics.
You will contribute to multidisciplinary clinical meetings and ongoing research studies, including natural history and interventional projects, within a highly collaborative environment at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. The post offers close supervision from Dr Enrico Bugiardini and Professor Henry Houlden, with opportunities to publish, present research, and engage in national and international academic activity.
An honorary contract will be sought from UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, for which a DBS check will be required.
The post is available immediately and is funded by Wellcome and Fidelity Bermuda Foundation for one year in the first instance.
If you need reasonable adjustments or a more accessible format to apply for this job online, or have any queries regarding the application process, please contact the Institute of Neurology HR Team (ion.hradmin@ucl.ac.uk).
Informal enquiries regarding the role can be addressed to Professor Henry Houlden (h.houlden@ucl.ac.uk).
