The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking a Junior Specialist to support research activities within the Orthopaedic Trauma Institute (OTI) under the direction of Dr. Theodore Miclau and Dr. Madeline MacKechnie.
The Junior Specialist will contribute to clinical research projects focused on orthopaedic trauma, fracture healing, musculoskeletal injury, outcomes research, and related areas of orthopaedic surgery, including global orthopaedic surgery. Responsibilities may include coordinating research studies, recruiting and screening participants, collecting and managing research data, maintaining regulatory documentation, conducting literature reviews, assisting with statistical analyses, preparing abstracts and manuscripts, and supporting presentations for scientific meetings. The Specialist will work closely with faculty investigators, research staff, trainees, and collaborators across UCSF and affiliated institutions. The position offers an opportunity to gain experience in clinical research methodology, data management, scientific writing, and orthopaedic surgery research within a leading academic medical center.
