The key responsibilities of the role include leading on the development of research in the field of electrochemical engineering with a focus on advanced battery technologies and their manufacturing/metrology, fuel cells and/or electrolysers, alternative propulsion relevant energy storage systems including supercapacitors, and modelling. You will be expected to conduct and publish high-quality world-class research that complements existing departmental and Faculty activities, while securing research grant funding to support your programme. The role also involves developing national and international partnerships with industry, academic institutions, and other relevant organisations to maximise research impact. Additionally, you will support postdoctoral researchers, as well as PhD students, and contribute to the teaching of current or new modules relevant to the post. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in departmental administrative, outreach, and enterprise activities.
The salary for a grade 8 Lecturer is £54,931-£62,903 per annum inclusive of London allowance, or £68,284-£74,166 per annum inclusive of London allowance for a grade 9 Associate Professor post as per UCL's non-clinical grade structure.
The key skills required for the post are a PhD and an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering or other relevant discipline; an appropriate background and research expertise to make contributions at the forefront of research in chemical engineering with emphasis on the areas of relevance to the post; combined with excellent attention to detail and the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues and external partners.

UCL currently supports a relocation supplement of up to £10,000 may be payable where it is necessary to relocate from within the UK, and up to £20,000 if from outside of the UK, to take up an appointment at UCL.
