The School of Mathematics and Physics seeks to appoint an academic at Level B or Level C to a continuing Teaching and Research position in Mathematics or Statistics. The role is open to all areas of mathematics or statistics, with applied mathematicians, computational mathematicians and statisticians particularly encouraged to apply. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, build an impactful research profile, and mentor the next generation of researchers within a collegial, inclusive and ambitious academic community.
You will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development, develop and sustain a strong research program with national and growing international recognition, supervise Higher Degree by Research students, and actively participate in academic citizenship and service activities that advance the School and the University. As one of the largest Schools within the Faculty of Science, the School of Mathematics and Physics supports a vibrant research culture and delivers comprehensive programs across mathematics and statistics, offering a dynamic environment in which to create change together through teaching, research and engagement.

As part of the Selection Process, applicants shortlisted for interview will be required to present a seminar and a mock lecture to members of the School community prior to their scheduled interview. The lecture topic will be provided in advance to shortlisted candidates. The research seminar will be for 30 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions, and the mock lecture will be 25 minutes, plus questions.
