Works under medical supervision to perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms. Functions independently of direct supervision to safely operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. Supervises and coordinates the activities of the other technicians. Applies the application of recording devices to the patient, cleaning/sterilization of equipment and monitoring of polysomnograms. Recognize sleep pathology when it occurs in the laboratory and responds with the appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety.
