We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work in the group of Professor Ben Davis, to carry out research into developing chemical strategies for glycoconjugate assembly as part of a UKRI-EPSRC-funded collaborative grant.
You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities, adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols, and test hypotheses and analyse scientific data. You will be expected to contribute ideas for new research projects, develop ideas for generating research income, present detailed research proposals to senior researchers and collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles and occasionally present papers, lectures and posters.
You should have a relevant PhD/DPhil in Chemistry, Chemical Biology or Biochemistry (or be close to completion), together with relevant experience, plus knowledge of polymer and materials chemistry and protein, sugar and lipid biomolecule methods. Specialist knowledge in the discipline, proven ability to manage academic research activities and previous experience of contributing to publications and presentations are all essential.
The post is fixed-term for 12 months, funded by a UKRI-EPSRC consortium.
