Dr Jungnam Cho's lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to investigate the regulatory mechanisms governing transposon mobilization in plant systems. The successful candidate will join the recently awarded ERC Consolidator Grant MOBICODE. In addition to their research responsibilities, the post holder will dedicate 20% of their time to supporting the administration and coordination of the MOBICODE programme. This post is full-time and available immediately.
About you
Applicants should hold or be close to completing a PhD/DPhil in a relevant field, together with appropriate and sufficient specialist knowledge to contribute effectively to established research programmes. They should be able to manage their own research and associated activities independently, with a strong track record of contributing to scientific publications and presentations. The successful candidate will be expected to develop innovative research ideas, contribute to grant applications and research income generation, and communicate their work effectively through high-quality publications, presentations, and representation of the research group at meetings. Excellent organisational, project management, and communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive working environment within the Department. Experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams is desirable. Experience in bioinformatics and the analysis of next-generation sequencing data would also be an advantage.
