Organic Chemist

Salary Range: € 27,510 – € 51,090

Join our Manufacturing Science and Technology team and play a key role in bringing innovative medicines from concept to reality. As an organic chemist, you will contribute to the development and implementation of synthesis and processes for industrialization of therapeutic oligonucleotides and peptides, work with cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate with diverse scientific experts in a highly innovative pharmaceutical environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and optimize chemical synthesis processes that contribute to the development and implementation of innovative pharmaceutical products into production environment.
• Conduct experiments, analyze results, and document findings in accordance with the highest scientific, quality, and compliance standards.
• Collaborate closely with diverse cross-functional teams to drive scientific and technical excellence.
• Provide scientific support for technology transfer activities, helping bring new processes from development into manufacturing.
• Explore, evaluate, and implement state-of-the-art synthetic chemistry technologies, laboratory methods, and techniques.
• Continuously build expertise in your field and actively share knowledge across teams.
• Take ownership of your personal and professional growth while contributing to a culture of learning and innovation.

Essential requirements

• University degrees (BSc or MSc, PhD preferred) from chemistry, biologics, pharma or any other appropriate natural sciences.
• Solid expertise in chemical synthesis and compound characterization, including hands-on experience with NMR, HPLC, and LC-MS techniques.
• Experience in the synthesis of oligonucleotides and/or peptides will set you apart.
• The ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced research environment.
• A proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• A passion for learning, exploring new scientific approaches, and continuously developing your expertise.
• Good command of English, enabling effective collaboration within a global organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

We are offering a permanent contract, with 6-months probation period.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: € 27,510 do € 51,090

The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.
