Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Research Assistant to join the Duff Lab and contribute to an exciting programme of research investigating the mechanisms underlying Alzheimer's disease (AD) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), with a particular focus on tau-related pathology.

You will contribute to experimental research using cellular, mouse and human systems, applying a range of molecular and cellular approaches including human iPSC culture, protein and RNA biochemistry, molecular biology and imaging. You will also analyse and interpret experimental results using computational and AI-enabled approaches, contributing to the optimisation and development of experimental methods.

Working closely with Professor Duff, you will be expected to take responsibility for planning and carrying out experiments, troubleshooting technical challenges and contributing to the interpretation of findings and development of follow-up experiments. You will have the opportunity to contribute ideas to the research programme and to present and communicate your findings.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your research expertise within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment and to contribute to research aimed at improving our understanding of neurodegenerative disease and identifying potential therapeutic opportunities.

The role is available immediately and funded by the UK DRI until for one year in the first instance.

Starting salary offered in the range £39,807 – £42,891 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
