The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.
The post is for a Research Assistant in Flourishing Nature Connections, located within the Neuroscience, Ethics and Society (NEUROSEC) Team in the Department of Psychiatry.

The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis. The postholder must be in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to attend regular Departmental and Team meetings.
The post is funded for 18 months and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. It is offered on a full-time basis with consideration given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro rata basis with appropriate adjustment of duties.
You will be joining an exciting research sub-group within the NEUROSEC team – Flourishing Nature Connections– led by Professor Ilina Singh. In this role, you will manage your own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues as well as contributing to wider project planning and organisation, including ideas for new research projects. You will contribute to the design of research protocols and their implementation via online tools (e.g. Qualtrics, m-Path) and gather, analyse, and present data from a variety of sources.
You will hold a first degree in psychology, or cognitive science. You will have evidence of strong quantitative data analysis skills and some qualitative data analysis skills, applied in research. You will also have demonstrable experience of running studies with human participants, designing, choosing and evaluating study materials. Experience in data management e.g., organising and checking data and general data processing is essential. A Master's in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science or equivalent full-time research experience would be desirable.
