This is an exciting opportunity to join the MRC Centre of Research Excellence in Restorative Neural Dynamics (RND CoRE), working within the Physiological Neuroimaging Group led by Professor Charlotte Stagg. You will contribute to a programme of human non-invasive neuromodulation research, primarily with healthy adult participants but with potential opportunities to work with clinical populations.
The post is fixed-term for three years and is based at FMRIB, John Radcliffe Hospital. This is an in-person role, with limited opportunities for hybrid working.
You will assist with participant recruitment, scheduling, data collection, and analysis across a range of human studies. You will manage your own research and administrative activities within guidelines provided by senior colleagues, contribute to wider project planning, select and adapt experimental protocols, and use specialist equipment during participant testing sessions. You will also contribute to scientific reports, journal articles, and the presentation of data at conferences, and represent the research group at external meetings and seminars.
You will hold a first degree, together with relevant experience of neuromodulation and neuroimaging in human participants, and may be working towards a doctorate in neuroimaging, neuromodulation, or a closely related field. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge of human non-invasive brain stimulation approaches to work within established research programmes, and will have a proven track record in recruiting and scheduling study volunteers, including from complex clinical populations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to manage your time effectively, and experience of working both independently and as part of a small team are essential.
A Master's degree in a related subject, experience analysing neuroimaging (particularly MR) data, and experience contributing to peer-reviewed publications would be desirable.
